RPM Noise??

Can anyone help me with this, When I push my X past 3,000 RPM sounds like the valves are clattering or maybe it is just a bad case of detonation. Anyone else have this problem? Runs great as long as I keep it revved under 3,000. It is a 93 5spd. Sport with 97,000mi, Mods include KKM, Flowmaster, Jet Chip, Borla Headers. Advice please!

Changed the fuel filter latley?
Also check the fuel pressure, it could be time for a new pump.

would a fuel pump exhibit these problems? I can rev it at a standstill past 3,000 w/ no problem. only makes the noises when I mistakenly rev past in 1st& 2nd, no problem in 3rd on up. fuel filter is about 1yr old, what a pita to replace, now I know they make a cool little tool to take off those F&*ckin clamps!
