Hi everyone,

I got a used Explorer 02 XLT 4x4, I had noticed 2 things:

1- when the gear is on (P) or (N); when try to push fuel pedal to see motor acceleration response, the rpm will not exceed 2000 indicator, and vhicle starts to vibrate. Is this normal? note that during driving everything is quite normal and acceleration is good.

2- mpg within small city is about 11, it seems bad, I wonder what is the reason?

Any help!

I've never tried my X, but with my Taurus it would cut out quite low when the engine had no restriction (Neutral or Park). I beleive this was to prevent accidental over rev if the motor falls out of gear.

Although 11mpg seems low, it isn't extremely low. It depends on your take offs, when your last tune up was, how much stop and go you're doing etc.
