One more question...

I am needing to get new shocks in the near future, and I want to get either the RS9000 or the Edelbrocks? Anyone that has experience with them if you could tell me how they worked on your truck I would appreciate it. I have a '94 XLT and want to know what the perofrmance gains will be both on and off road.

Thanks

Don't know about the 9000's but I just put on the Edelbrock's on the front 4 days ago and can't believe the diff. I can really tell the diff between front and back right now. I'm gonna put the rears on in a few days. But I can't believe the diff in the way the truck rides both on and off the road. Dips in roads are much less noticeable. Over logs/curbs/ruts the front end stays put (doesn't come down hard at all) and doesn't bounce at all. Can ya tell I like 'em? But this is on a '95 that I've had for 1-1/2 yrs that just hit 65000 w/ the original shocks. Maybe I should let myself get used to it. All I know is that I don't have to adjust 'em and they're firm when needed but the ride isn't any harsher.

Though I have not tried Rancho/Edelbrocks I do have a 94 XLT.

I have tried Bilstiens which worked well at first (6 months) but quickly turned to mush.

I currently have the new trailMaster 4-way shocks on the front & they work well (I like a very stiff suspension on and offroad) They are a spring over design and can be seen at http://www.rockymountainsusp.com
Im hesitant to swap out the backs, as my experience with the bilstiens left me weary of manufacturers claims.

Lastly Ive heard nothing but good about the Edlebrocks, and as for the Ranchos there is likely a good reason they are on many 4x4s on the road today.

I second what jwrezz said. My experiences were nearly identical on my '97 Sport. Although I only had 45,000 miles on my stock shocks. I currently have the Eddlebrock IAS shocks on my front and the stock ones on my rear. Not by choice, CarPartsOnSale sent me 3 fronts and one back even though the packing slip was correct. I put the front ones on Saturday and immediately could tell a difference. I went for a quick ride up some hills behind my house and the front felt a lot softer, and didn't bounce at all over the rough sections. On my everyday ride to work, I noticed that the rough sections aren't nearly as rough. I can't wait to get my rear ones on to get rid of the bouncing back. I was also split between the RS9000s and the Eddlebrocks. I believe I made the right choice with the Eddlebrocks.
