I am about to change my rear diff. fluid. I was wondering if it is ok to use the red hi temp trv silicone instead of the black stuff that is usually talked about. Is there any difference, because I can get the red for half the price of the black. Thanks guys

The red will do fine -- its what I used on the rear axle.

how long should I wait after I seal it back up before I fill it with new oil?

I wait around 4-5 hours, but I just wanted to make sure it didn't leak. Just look on the package and it should say how long it takes to dry. When I did it, I ran a big bead around the cover and around each of the holes.
