Rubbery Scrunchy sound from brake pedal

Thats the best way I can describe it. Under normal braking, there is no noise but brake a little harder or pump them at a stop light and you hear it.

I looked under and there is a rubber boot where the brake goes thorugh the firewall and its this rubber thats making the noise.

I was going to spray some silicone on it but wanted to see if anyone had other ideas before I went ahead and did that.

Rubbery Scrunchy sound from brake pedal...
Just wanted to say that your description is dead on:thumbsup: My brake pedal does the same, but I haven't done anything to it yet...

I basically wanted to make sure silicone wasnt harmfull to rubber... I will give it a spray and see what happens...

My '03 has the exact same problem which started about 10,000 miles ago at 55,000.

My '94 does this, too. At first I was afraid that there was a problem with the brake booster, because I read somewhere about a TSB where the bolts that hold it to the firewall would break, but that wasn't my problem, so I've just learned to live with the "Rubbery Scrunchy sound" (perfect description, by the way)
