i need some help finding a grommet in the firewall of my 2005 explorer. in my 2003 there was one behind the e-brake and in the 2005 there isnt one in the same spot. i was wondering if anyone knows where a grommet is located. if theres not one then are there any suggestions as to where/how i can run my power wire? id appreciate all the help asap. thanks guys.

I know some people who have run their power wires off of the power wire to their radio. as far as the grommet goes, I have no idea.

There's one on the passenger side, but you have to pull the stock one out. There are 2 other wires running through it. I was able to fit in 4ga power wire with room left to spare.

sounds good. ill check tomorrow and see if i can do it that way. just a little too late for me to mess around with it now  ill let you guys know if i found it or not and if that will work (might not have enough power wire). thanks for the help and suggestions.

if anyone else knows of any other grommets still feel free to post on this thread. thanks again.

I had 20' and ended up with extra. You could probably get away with 17', but I got 20' cuz its always better to have extra then not enough!

I decided to run my 4 ga outside of the truck. I put a ton of wire loom on it and ran it between the firewall and the inner fender than once beneeth my truck I ran it thru electrical conduit to a gromet I found on the drivers side of the truck under the rear seat. My amp is mounted right under the rear drivers side seat and it looks bad ass. You can do it that way if you already havent found a way.

i made my own hole on the driver side and bought a gromet... gromet was more than big enough for the 0 gauge
