bug fender off, and i believe other members here have used bolts and/or those body push pin type clips.

I can't believe there are no threads about this already!!

Holes

If you are not opposed to rhino lining, or something like that, they make colored coatings. I am going to do the same thing, I don't know yet if I will have to back the holes with something or not yet but will get back to you when I find out. Another option I have bounced around is using the xl style body trim. From what I can tell it looks like it buttons up where those holes are.

if i use pushpins i was thinking, you will see a ton of pushpins

i have seen explorers with no running boards and no holes, think the xl, if i could find one of those and snap it on maybe..

i keep looking, but i think putting something behind it, then like spray painting it over

would a black line be good? or keep it white

From the factory, you either had running boards or some decorative fiberglass trim pieces. Mine had the trim, which I took of to put on running boards many years ago. I bet you could find the trim pieces on Ebay, or maybe local junk yard might have one.

go to napa or any auto parts store and buy the push pins. they work great. I also hurculined mine because I got hooked on a tree stump on a trail and needed to cover up a miner dent and scratch.

tape over the holes and bedline the rocker....that's what i did.

when you guys taped the holes did you tape the outside or the inside before you hurculined?

hmmmm i took off the running boards, because id scrape them a bit and it takes off the 2 inches, and id save em..

i will look for the other trim style ive seen, at a yard, or something but i cant see how they wont be damaged...

dang it... of i can buy my own metal pieces bolt em in and go white..

hmm
