Hi I have a problem in the fact that my daytime running lights (Canadian Vehicle) will not shut off even when the car is not running and the ignition key removed. The only way I could cure it was to remove the fuse from the power distribution box. The only problem with that is that it is the same fuse for the fog lights so it killed those as well. Any suggestions?????

It is likely that your DRL Module is faulty as it is providing pulsed voltage to your high beams.... but it (DRL) should not be seeing voltage in on pin 3 (in 96 at least) which tells the module that your key is on.

Me too!

Spooky - I have exactly the same problem but with an American vehicle (see my post from a few days ago). No bright ideas yet. It sounds like a fused relay but so far I can't find a headlamp relay! According to the manual there isn't one. I'm afraid it's the headlight switch cos that's big bucks (removing the dashboard etc)...

Good luck! I'll post to you if someone answers mine.

Alex

Is the module easy to locate and replace????

I don't know.... in 96 its in the front left side (driver side) of the engine compartment ... near the headlights. I would still check whether you have voltage where you shouldn't (as suggested).

yup, same thing with my Canadian 97 xlt. they would come on by themselves in the middle of the day or night. pulled the fuse like you, no fog lights now....but on the plus side...no dead batteries in the a.m.

asked FORD dealership, they said ????????????? we can try replacing stuff until it is fixed ....translates to $$$$$$$$$$$$$ so for fog lights I just re-wired to a seperate circuit
