Hey guys, I found this forum through google and I'm hoping someone on here can help me with my problem.

The car is a 2002 Ford Explorer with the 4.0L V6 engine. The car is running very rough and is throwing 6 codes. The codes are as follows:
P0300 - Random misfire from multiple cylinders
P0301 - Misfire #1 cylinder
P0302 - Misfire #2 cylinder
P0303 - Misfire #3 cylinder
P0316 - Misfire first 1000 RPM
P0172 - System too rich bank 1

After looking at the spark plug wires. It appears 1,2,3 are all on the same passenger side bank. Which leads me to believe the problem isn't with each cylinder but with something that controls each cylinder, such as the coilpack.

The car's exhaust smells a lot like gasoline so I am assuming those cylinders aren't getting spark leading to the rich condition and the gas smell.

Does anyone know a way of checking the coilpack or where I should start?

Thanks guys!

I'd check the small things first, plugs & wires, fireing order, vacuum leaks.

Can you verify that 1,2,3 are all on the passenger side? That is the what the spark plug wires indicate.
