I'm new here so bear with me guys. I've gone over just about all the forums/posts and am still having trouble. I have a 2000 Explorer Sport. The only mod is a K&N filter. The truck starts rough, actually very rough. Then it idles around 500 and surges. I've tried disconnecting the battery for 20min, cleaning the MAS, i'm going to change the plugs <bosch plat +4>, getting jacob or bosch wires. I've also gone thru 2 different kinds of injector/fuel system cleaner. I finally got rid of my acceleration shudder to a point after the second bottle of cleaner. What else can I do about this idle? If i drive around for a while then let the truck idle it surges. could it be a misfire? detonation? I've been to my dealership 4 times and all they do is run it on the computer and tell me nothing's wrong. I'm also getting the tranny fluid changed for my 30,000 miles tuneup.

Please help, i love my truck and I don't want it to piss me off like this!

Is the truck still under warranty? If so, give it to a dealer & let them figure it out. If not, Here's a list to check

Clogged fuel filter
vacume leak
bad sensor, MAS, EGR, TPS, O2, MAP etc
Bad fuel pressure regulater
Bad fuel pump
Bad/leaking gasket somewhere

yea it's still under warranty. I've been to the dealer quite a few times like I said. The only problem with taking it there is that no matter what they do to it they keep it for the whole day at least. It's my only mode of transportation so I can't just drop it off and let them take their time and then tell me nothing is wrong according to the computer. I should've mentioned the i've replaced the fuel filter twice, after running the cleaner thru. I was thinking the o2 sensor, there is only 1 right? and how can I get my dealership to replace the fuel pump if nothing comes up on their computer?

Well it rained here last night and the truck ran like total s***. Any ideas? The only time the dealership can take me is monday. Help!

let the dealership figure it out

It sounds like a defect in assembly possibly ECU that damn computer. Anyhow if the dealership refuses just ask for the name of the owner of the dealership and write a nasty letter to Ford it worked for me the Dealer ship was more than happy to figure out what was wrong with my ride about 2 days after I sent Ford my letter.
