is your check engine light on?

1st things I'd probably do: check codes (CEL on or not), check fuel pressure, check for vacuum leaks, check spark plugs/wires, and other basic checks.

NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
we have a new fuel filter and the plastic tool to get the fuel line off with but we just can't get the fuel line off and we pull the fule relay and try to start it to take the line pressure off it and still can't get it off

The little "fingers" inside the fuel line where it disconnects can be very hard to get out! Make sure that you slide the fuel line towards the filter when you have the disconnect tool inserted all the way in the fitting, or it will not let go! It took me about 45 minutes both times I have changed mine, it just takes a LOT of patience until you get it just right! good luck with it, and have you checked your air filter, too?

I have found I can never get the filter off with the tools so I take the pressure off the system then I cut the line next to the filter it's self. right next to the big part were its big and fat I just use a wire cutter and cut both ends then use the tool to remove what’s left as its easy that way but you also have to change the filter my way as the old one is well really no good now .

may try that trick thanks
