I've found some incredible help here on fixing the leaking fuel tank in my 1993 EB explorer.
However, there is one nut left that is holding the middle strap of the tank and OF COURSE it's frozen. I've tried banging it, penetrating oil and an impact wrench but it's not budging. (it's not on a lift).
I'm pretty sure my fuel tank is mostly empty. My idiot question is -- how stupid would I be to try heating the bolt? The thought of playing with a torch under my fuel tank sounds like SUICIDE but i don't know what else to do. Cutting the strap sounds like it would be just as dangerous with the metal sparks flying everywhere. Any suggestions?
HELP!!!
