You need to fix it. The name says what it does. The Computer calls for the gas tank pressure to be vented, and the sensor senses the pressure. If there is no change, The PCM assumes a non vented tank , the check engine light comes on and the truck runs in limp mode. This will consume excess fuel, costing more than the repair. I'd get an easy out . Try turning this ( counterclockwise) while pressing down.
