Rust on Fender Trim

What do you guys (and girls) think about permanently removing the trim over the fenders and rocker panels? I’m getting ready to repair some rust under the rocker panels and thought of not putting back the trim.

you will have lots of holes.

yeah, when i was inside the quater area i noticed all the holes. you'll have some work to do if you leave them off.

Mine was like swiss cheese... it was really bad, mines a 97 and a michigan vehicle. I bought a replacement rocker from lmc, not too cheap though for just a piece of steel that's almost guarenteed needs some shaping to make it fit correctly. I can guarentee that under the door is bad and right infront of the wheel well is bad, just like mine. IF you don't get all the rust off that you can it'll show back up within a year... just like mine is. If you take off the fender flares, there's holes that will need to be filled, for thats what holds the trim on.
