Keep working it with penetrating oil and a hammer to break the rust loose .... it may take a couple of days

And next time put a little grease on that sucker

Try heating it up with a propane torch along with everything else you're doing.

wrap a chain around the ball and a tree and pull, that is if it"s atttached to the EX

the pin and everything was rusted together.. i got the pin out but i cant get the tongue/bar out now... beat the heck out of it today down at the farm... debated on the whole tree/chain thing but decieded against it... its bad enough fiance's family doesnt think im bright if i pull my bumper off i'll really be in trouble :D

on to my next problem though not gonna worry so much about the bar... i've got a slight squeak/rubbing sound coming from the passenger rear tire/side i cant figure out what its coming from... just bought this thing i dont wanna put more money into it already

Keep soaking in down with some lube, it will come out

I am. this is the second day of doing it lol im prayin.. then once it comes out gonna sand it down/paintit and some anti-seize here we come

i did the whole tree thing..it worked

seriously? i kind of just figured that was the thing to tell "the new guy" I dunno maybe i'll try it.. whats the worse that could happen... coff

Look take the chain like spindlecone said. You don't have to take a flying start just start putting pressure on it. Once the chain has no slack and you feel resistance you can put foot on brake then tranny in park and emergency brake. If it hadn't come out now just start hitting with hammer. The combination of the chain, what ever you used to spray and the hammer it should come right out. Don't stand if front and have that thing hit you in the you know where. That may make the "People do stupid things" and that would not go over well girlfriends family or girlfriend.

The other problem is caused by you obviously hitting on that thing so hard instead of using the tree, that now you have moved the rear housing into the wheelwell. This is a common problem that newbies make instead of the tree.

i'll give her a try today after work. thanks for the help! had a guy back up into my pickup today with his little honda and smack the hitch try sayin it was my fault.... small joys in life i tell ya

WTF !!! this happens in IA. About the guy that just hit you. Smack him like a little red-headed step child!!!!!!

he's kind of a DUR not saying im a bright bulb but that guy takes the cake was trying to show off his lil pocket rocket... didnt bother the truck one bit but i think it loosened up the hitch tho tried the tree thing and the SOB actually worked lol... thanks for the help!

From many small minds, great solutions can arise (waylon jennings, 1978) :)

lol i'll have to remember that one... noticed your from san jose... how is the big city these days... didnt know there were actually people out there that went 4 wheeling other than my redneck kin-folk who had a 3 wheeler with no seat so they tied a pillow to it :D

BIG, and I never wheel, went to the dumps once, got some mud on my tires, never again :D

lol sound like my parents.. OOH dirt gimme the wax... i went back there a few months back and its bigger than i remember but i guess thats what happens when you live in a town now that has just as many people as the three/four block area i grew up in(600 people max) :D

And whatever you do, when you hook this sucker up to that tree, do NOT preface the exercise with "Hey, Y'all, watch This !"
