I tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that talked about using KC lights on a Westin Safari bar. I know a bunch of guys must have this combo, which KC's do you guys have? Will Daylighters work, are other ones better?

Yeah, I found your profile right after I posted that thread. Do you know if Daylighters will work or are they too thick? Also, how'd you run your wires? I found another thread where a guy ran the wires up the A-pillar, through the headliner, and put the switch in the garage door opener spot in the overhead console. I'm thinking that would be cool and not too difficult.

i think i heard daylighters are like 5" deep, or something like that, you'll have plenty of space with either lights u pick, just how much money u want to spend i guess
well i have the switch in my center console, i'm in the process of fabing up a nice switch panel for the full center console area, for both sets of my KC's and my brown wire mod switch, so until then they are just kinda hanging out , lol

have u bought the safari bar yet or still shopping? whats the best price you've found?

Just to let you know, if you plan on wheeling your Ex, which I know you've shown interest in, installing a Safari bar up front will destroy your approach angle.

Best price I've found is from bestdangparts.com, $161 for the bar and mounting kit, with free shipping included. I've also found it on Ebay for $128 including the mounting kit but not including $25 for shipping. So if I had a choice there, I'd take the slightly higher $161 to avoid dealing with Ebay.

Yeah, I know Ryan. But it'll be a while before I get serious enough with wheelin that I have to worry about that angle. If I ever get that serious, all depends on how much money I start making when I graduate next year. Building my mid-12 second daily driven '06 Stang GT comes before wheeling :)

well i'm thinking bout selling my westin bar, and i'm coming to KC actually out to mahatten on sat to go wheeling with ryan,

wish i could make up my mind if i want to sell it, i'll let u know end of the week, that is if ur even interested, i'd put it on for u if i did,

i just put the thing on 3 months ago and i'm already thinking bout taking it off, geez, lol, i love the way it looks cause i don't want a huge brush guard, but i'm going body lift and don't want to worry bout moding this to still look right, give me a few days

i wanna bump this thread. Cuz i would love to know if i could get the regular KC Daylighters to fit on a safari bar without modding it. I know the Slimlites will fit but what about the regular ones?

Scott

if u are just curious about the depth, then u have plenty of room, so don't worry bout that, i believe that the daylighters are the same height as the slims that i run, i know i have lots of room around the slims right now, if u need to know how much room, i guess i'll look when i go out later and let u know, k

sweet....then i shall order my bar tonight....and then order the 150watt daylights, muwahahha! 385,000 candlepower a piece!

Ihave a manik bar and 6x9 square kc lites. there is plenty of room but my kc's suck
the mounts rusted and they won't hold the same position. constantly have to readjust them. spend the extra $ and buy a nice set of lites.

Waag vs Westin Grill Guards

 Ryan is definitely right. Get the WAAG Grill guard if you are worried about approach angles. The Westin goes WAY down below the bumper and plastic airdam/trim area. Took me a while to research all the different manufacturers and find their mounting instructions to compare, but that is what I have on mine now.
