Safe PSI for airing down?

I'm running the stock 16" chromes and 33" mud kings, just wondering what the safest pressure would be to lower it to for mudding only.

stock pressure for stock wheels is 30PSI (as u already know)
max pressure for the mud kings is 65
I usually have them at 45-50

would 20-25PSI be too low?

15-20 is a common air down for mud tires.
If you are between 20-25 psi, then you should be fine, just make sure its ONLY while your in the mud, since you dont want the tire to de-mount.

I don't have much experience in Mud (a little to dry for that in Arizona)...

I personally run 13psi on the trails with 33's and 15 x 8.5" wide rims and I've run as low as 8 on sand..

But, from what I've read (I did lots of reading before I went wheeling) air pressure on your tires for mud depends on the mud.

If you want to dig to the bottom of the mud you run higher pressure and tall/skinny tires. If you want to float over the mud you air down to get a bigger contact patch..

ah, makes sense, thx. im going to sweet peas mud bog in orange ville ON,CA this weekend, and wondering if i should bother airing down. guess i could just bring my compressor and try both ways lol, im sure ill stuck either way
