safety recall validity Europe/US

Hello.
I am the owner of a 97 XLT, bought in the US by someone, which I bought here in Belgium. There is a safety recall on the Front stabilizer bar bolt, and mine broke today.
Is the safety recall valid in europe? Can I send the bill for the repair to Ford?
Just curious.

As far as I know there has been no recall in this country for this item. The best bet is to check with your local Ford dealer who should be able to tell you. Apparently what is dangerous in one country is not in another.

You will find that a lot here, we are the lost tribe of Explorer owners. Ford have thrown us away now they have had our money........Ask ANY ford dealer about a problem with your Explorer and they all look at you like you have two heads a purple nose and a bulging left eye ball!
It really is a case of do it your self in the main here, we really do seek advice and solutions from members on this site. You will find every one to be supportive and helpful in every way.
