I think it's pretty sad.. They've dropped the explorer to my understanding, never really had an F-150, unless you specifically took the truck to them. Seems as though, they're just trying to adapt to the market fer fast/sporty cars, which is understandable. I don't know why they woulda dropped the explorer, and never really produced many F-150 (other than custom jobs) when they're some of the top selling vehicles in the nation, as well as they are modified by many... I've never liked the focus from day one... so i don't like it much

Go where the market it I guess... kids getting Foci (heh heh), ricers converting... if it means making $ opening a new market, then so be it. However, the XP8 was nice...

I guess the market was not there for the XP8 that's probably the reason it was discontinued. Sure the Explorer is the best selling SUV, but the majority of the buyers are not into modding (cusmetically/mechanically). Plus the price tag of around $39k (non supercharged and not fully loaded) is a bit expensive. You could get an V8 Explorer Limited fully loaded at less than $39k. XP8 supercharged and fully loaded was on the high $40k the last time I checked.

focus what a hunk of crap

They had one in front of the shop along with a "Saleen Contour" when I went to go pick up my rims.

Fun-nee = click on the link to the "parts specials" and look at the address bar - it's the same list from Oct. 2000!!! All that stuff has been sold for months.

Why do you say that????

I know overseas they are a lot different car then here, but they say over there it is a really good car.
I have thought of getting one of the four doors as the family car. I know the 2-door has more horsepower but I can't see three of us in one of those little cars.

I have also looked at the Escape, but they are to new to get at a good price. (I buy them wrecked you know)

Just watch some of that racing where they race on dirt roads around on mountains (don't know the technical name). It's not big here in the US. If you run into it on TV, you will see plenty of Foci, and plenty of Foci doing very well. It is Ford's version of the WRX.

i say that because you could only fit one of my friends in there. Keep getting smaller and make more death wishes on the road that I can clean off my explorer's bumper.

Oh but dont ya know.. we own Oh Oh I think I am gonna roll over Explorers.. which pisses me off.. cause alot of people ask me why I own that thing.. arent you scared its gonna tip over.. all I have to say is this.. I am not anymore afraid of it tipping over then anything else I have owned.. All because of some B.S. Firestone crap.. :(

I love the who firestone thing. Got my X dirt cheap and brand new tires because of it. :D

Morrisey0, the racing your thinking of is Rally Racing.... and My favorite is the Pikes Peak Runn, its so kewl the way they race those cars up that hill

yeah people say to me, "arent you scared of flipping over?" and i usally laugh, but it really gets me when a fellow suv owner says it to me.... I just tell them my chance of flipping over is as good as theirs..... except if they own a 4 runner, to my understanding I think those suvs flip over twice more then all others.

Yeah.. I dont see anything tippy about em.. my mother has a 92 EB... and this last winter she slid it off the road and rolled a bunch of dirt back with the front passenger wheel and tire.. you would think with a kinda steep incline like that and the sudden resistance of moving earth with the wheel would of made it go over.. but never did.. and boy if it would have I would still be hearing about it.. she loves that thing more then me I think.. hehe.. although the other night she backed out of the garage with the back passenger door open on it.. and hooked the overhead door rail with it and tweaked the crap outta the door.. she was not impressed with herself at all over that one.. :(

I think the Focus is kinda cool. It is the #1 selling vehicle in the world . It is good to see ford running w/ the imports in the small car market. More money for truck R&D

i TOO LIKE THE fOCUS, I wouldnt be caught dead in one, I will never own one, but it is a pretty good little car compared to what else is out there for the $$$$. It's got more power, better brakes, and is safer then 1.2 the crap in it;s price range. However if you ask me it;s made to go to work and back and thats about it, like a Civic.

My friend had a Focus and he likes it, however I have read some stuff from Ford tech's on the Focus and it does sound like Ford cut some real Corners when producing them for the US. When will Ford quit cutting corners? I typically dont like Ford cars very much at all, except for the most recent Mustangs and the real old Mustangs, I also like the 90-93 Mustangs. But the Focus was built to compete with the Civic and for that I think it does a good job.

My favorite car of all time will always be the VW GTI, it;s kinda the underdog of sport sedans, but I love em none the less. I remember being a little kid and seeing my first 2 door Rabbit GTI, I thought they looked cool as hell and the new 2002 VR6 is just plain HOT!! I hear the TDI's are pretty damn quick too....

Someday I plan to buy another 2 door GTI, or possibly a 93-94 Corraddo with the 178 HP V6

Maybe we should start a poll, which do you like better:

Focus hatchback
VW Golf GTI
Civic hatchback
New Toyota whatchyamacallit

Hands down I think the new VW's got all the imports and domestic small cars beat..........
