Same Height Tires

Ok, I have a questions for everyone.... If I want to put 17's (17 X 8) on my 1995 explorer, what tires would I need to put on those in order to NOT effect my spedo...? Any thoughts/Suggestions?

I looked at www.4lo.com and255/65/17 is sooooo close to the same height that I have now.... But when I went to tirerack.com to search for that size there is only 1 kind/brand of that size made. If I have to I can always go w/that tire but would like to have a few more choices. Any other suggestions?

275/55/17 would be really close... also, did your X come stock with a 255/70/16?

255/70/16 is how mine came from the factory. I am going to check locally to see if what I can find then check at tirerack.com. B/c after shipping it may be cheaper to buy locally. I remember reading that post about tirerack.com and since they are going on a 4runner ; ) I should be ok...HEHE... Thanks for the help guys! I really love this board b/c everybody is aways more than willing to help!
