SAS question and lift question

ok after reading a few posts a SOA wouild give good lift in the rear but what can i do(besides TT) to lift the front. solid axel in the front would be nice. but how much would that run.

Well I read in your sig that you have a 2x4. Someone correct me if i'm wrong but I beleive that you can crank the torsion bars alot more than a 4x4 since you don't have to worry about the u-joints. I THINK i remember someone saying as much as 7" seems like a lot to me and the ride would be crap. If you have a 2x4 you could also just get lift spindles. Please do a search on the 2x4 TT but i'm pretty sure you can crank them up alot more that you could if you had a 4x4. Good luck

that works for me but what about a SAS. do i need a 4x4 to do that. but how much would it cost. money realy aint that much of a factoras long as its reasonable
 






You don't need 4x4 to SAS but it's not worth it unless you are. You could take the opportunity to swap to 4x4 when you SAS though.

If you want lots of lift but still 2wd go with the lift spindles.
 






SAS can be expensive... Take Jefe for example, he paid over 4k just for the axel :eek:

I think his total was probably around 8k+. Plus he did pretty much all the work and had over 100 hours of labor into it.

Yes, but on the other hand some around here have done it for less than 2k. Its all about how you want it to perform and how bulletproof you want it.

for a 2x4, I'd go with 3" lift spindles and a ~2" TT unless you plan to convert to 4x4.
 






True.................heck, if you like the gear ratio and traction control in the donor axle, you could do one for under $1000.
 






i dont think ill be doing a 4x4 converstion until i get out of boot camp and have time to mess with it. unless that is cheaper than SAS. what should i do first?
 






Then you'd want to SAS first, then later put in the rest of the drivetrain.
