Saying Hello

Just wanted to drop in here to say hello to everyone in the explorer world. I recently picked up a 99 Sport (oxford white, bone stock down to the paper filter) as my daily driver. I'm not at all new to fords (I operate a Mustang club out of Las Vegas www.silverstatestangs.com) And have a "lightly modded" 01 Cobra (http://www.silverstatestangs.com/viewmember.php?user=Udet)

Its great to see yet another wonderful resource for vehicle owners to swap information and war stories. I look forward to *****ing about some broken part in a "HELP!!!P@# my truck is broken" thread which I'm sure will be written shortly

Oh yah, Can anyone tell me if the 4.0 is a bored out version of the Mustang 3.8? Similar to the 4.2L found in the F-150? Just curious.

Welcome to the forum! You didn't go with the 5.0L Explorer?!? :

The 4.0L comes from the same family as the 2.8L motor I believe.

I would have loved to go with the 5.0 (god knows I have enough parts lying around) But alas, I'm a big wimp. Hey, that little 4.0 is stout. And if its not cutting it a 75 shot will help
