wanted to post it in the henson question and answer thread, but cant find it for some reason (?).
so anyway, here goes. the truck has been tuned by henson performance using a sct tuner. i have my end user file now, so i can play with the setting. recently, the truck was dyno'd and i had told them to bring it up to 5200, then get off it. i had notice that it would shift before the red line if you let it do it automatically.
i have now bumped the red line to 5600. however, if i let it shift by itself, it still shifts around 5000. i dont like trying to shift manually, because i have bounced it off the limiter the few times i have tried.
in the settings, it asks you if you want to increase the mph it shifts at. i tried that, and it made no difference. can anyone tell me if there is a setting i am missing that will allow it to shift by itself, and shift at 5600?

From what I remember you have to change the rpm shift tables as well as the mph tables. It will default to the one that comes first. You cant have your comanded shift and your rev limiter close to each other. Depending on the engines rate of rpm climb and transmission actuation time , a complete shift will happen several hundred rpm higher than comanded. A stock 87-93 mustang has the rev limiter at 6250 so it wont tax anything to raise yours to 6000. They have the same internals and Im sure yours has better valve springs than an old 80's stang.

What does the stock transmission shift at? Unfortunately my 5.0 f150 shifts at like 4k when its wide open. I know my SOHC with 5r55e shifts at 6k.

so just to update this. i called sct and asked if i missed something. what they said was i would need to get in touch with my programer (james henson). i asked if it was possible to increase the shift points at wot. they can write a program for this.

is it possible to get 5th gear when touching 130 in 4th?
