Question for any of you who have run the seafoam through your intake. Did you get white smoke in the engine bay as you ran it through? I know the exhaust smokes alot when your done..but I got minor smoke from the manifold as I put it in! Is this normal...or do I have a LEAK in my intake somewhere??? Ran it through my booster vac...so no open throttle body or anything.
Thanks, J...

Why did you run it through the brake booster?

You only cleaned the rear cylinders.

Hook up a vacuum line from the throttle body.

As for the smoke in the engine compartment, do you have an exhaust leak (knock sound?) by chance?

Most guys run through the brake booster..it was also the easiest access point..for me anyways. I know it only cleaned the rear cylinders...I thought of that, but on the 4.0 ohv the vac tree where all the hoses feed is on the rear of the upper intake. I looked around up near the throttle body but didn't see any vac ports. Searched around on the site..but didn't find any posts on other methods other than the booster hose. If you know...please inform..I have this can of Ford FI flush I've been dying to use, but don't know where to hook up to (its the puncture type can w/ hose).
No knocks, no exhaust leak that I know of. Sprayed my engine down with soapy water...didn't see any bubbles. Plus just had my exhaust back pressure tested to see if my cat was clogged...everything was fine. I assume if I had an exhaust leak they for sure would of caught it.
Upper intake manifold looks good, checked my lower manifold bolts also..their tight. I have been chasing some intermitent loss of power issues...I guess maybe I could have a small leak/ bad gasket??? It wasn't alot of smoke...but def. came right off the upper intake...I just don't know if this is normal?
Thanx, J...

only cleaned the rear cylinders with the brake boost line?

hmmmmm

i guess i better seafoam it through a different line then

In the OHV 4.0, the Vacuum line is on the BOTTOM on the Throttle Body. It Points down and to the Drivers Side.

Is it just capped off? Just pull the cap, attach hose...and the rest is the same? Any idea on this FI flush...just use the same port?

Had the EXACT SAME problem!!!!! I would love to know what it is!

The TB vac line is hard to find on our trucks. It's kind of hidden under the TB. It's not capped off; it has a rubber vac line going to it from (if I remember right) the manifold.
