Well, I finally did it. Went out today and bought a couple cans of SeaFoam to shoot through my engine. Got home, sucked a can through the TB, made a whole lotta smoke, then shut it off. A few minutes later I started it up and like almost everyone else that has used this wondrous product, I was astounded at the difference. Much more power, a smoother, better running engine, and hopefully an increase in mileage. It's like a new engine! It pulls alot stronger in higher RPM's now. Anyway, I know this has been discussed many times, but I just wanted to share my experience with it, because I am one happy camper right now. So for all you who haven't used SeaFoam yet, go out, buy it, put it in, and be happy. :) Later.

kinda backward on that exchange rate

The Canuck buck is on an 11 year high right now. Good deals to be had south of the border.

I emailed Seafoam re: Canadian sales. They have a few places that sell it north of their border...in Manitoba. Told them they're missing out on an untapped market.

Did you ever look into the price off getting it shipped out west?

I don't know cause they sure would make a lot of money if they did. You might want to check and see if any toher similar products are sold in Canada. I know Amsoil has a similar product but I can't recall the name.

ok so i did it and it worked pretty well got some smoke out of the exhaust not to much but i didnt put too much in i think im going to do more soon i didnt feel that i put in enough now i put in about 1/3 or 1/4 of a can i also put in a bit for the transmission and let me tell u i cant feel it shift gears but it is its sooo smooth ! i love it great product

I used to suck up half the can thru the break booster and pour the rest into the oil pan and change the oil in like 500 miles to get out all the crap the sea foam broke up.

What did other people have best results doing?

I dont really want to use any 'similar' products because everyone here uses Seafoam, and it obviously works. Who knows what the other stuff will do....

Didn't bother. The email said they do have just a handful of places in Manitoba. I'd like to try it, but I'm not that desperate to do so. My X runs pretty good as it is.

p.s. here is the excerpt from the email I got from them:

" We have no distribution in Alberta only in Manitoba for now through Piston Ring Service. Thanks for your interest."

Gotta love Google:

How did you get the seafoam into the throttle body? Did you the tube that connects to the oil filler.

There's a vacuum line that runs straight into the underside of the TB. Follow it until in comes out a little ways behind the drivers side headlight. The line should have a joint in it where you can twist it apart. Put the end of the vacuum line in the can of SeaFoam and let it sip it out. Don't know what you're talking about with the oil filter, but the TB has nothing to do w/ the oil filter.
EDIT: Just noticed you have a second gen, so those instructions might not be the same for you.

I haven't found a vacuum line that goes into the TB on the 5.0L.
Anyone know of any good spots to get the seafoam through the throttle body and not the brake booster?

Surely 5.0 throttle bodies have a vac port. I think they do. It's well hidden, on the bottom side of the TB.

I know of one way. You can start your truck with the intake tube off, if you really have to.

The only problem is that the suction wouldn't be that great through such a wide (60+mm) port.

I'm curious about the 5.0 and Seafoam. I've got a can that's in my center consol and I've been looking for instructions. Seems the 5.0 is a minority around here.
