1996 Explorer 2dr.
With the wonderful up and coming winter i finally decided to get a 4x4 to deal with the joy of upstate NY. I purchased a 96 explorer 2dr 4.0L with a manual transmission. Now my dilemma is that the right hand side inner rocker and its panel is completely rusted through and to keep it from going through everything else i'd like to weld a new one on there. problem being. I can't find one. I've searched everywhere. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where finding parts is easier. short of going to the dealer and signing over my first born child since parts are so expensive there. or a junkyard since that would require much work that i don't have time for. I also need a rear liftgate since the one onthe truck is dented like someone beat it with a bat. Any help is appriciated.

I'm not really sure where to go on the net for parts but, if you go to download.com download copernic. Its a search engine that combines several online engines, its free and it will find what ever your looking for.Chances are very good you'll find either a site or a place there in NY to get the parts.I use it to locate parts here in VA and nation wide. The cool thing about it is you can search here in the US or some other country if need be.Not only will it search for parts it seach for anything. This site has links to parts as well but if that does'nt do it for you try copernic.I hope this helps somewhat, good luck.
