The padding in my driver side seat is not what it used to be, anyone how to go about getting it re-stuffed or even get a new seat(brand new)? The dealer wants 1,200 to re-stuff it.

Brand new, I would think your best bet would be the dealer. It's not really something you can ship from an online store...

looking for an all new seat or to re-pad it. Isn't everything at the yard used.

junkyard will be under 100 bucks, probably closer to 50

Yea that's my bad I didn't really absorb the whole question... Edited my last post

Pull your seat out, (10 mins) unbolt from the track for ease of work... Don't break your side cover clips and stuff- you need to remove the seat bottom to get the side fabric/leather retainers off so you can get some room to work.

the fabric/leather retainers just slip off the frame. If you go above the springframe but under the stock foam, you don't need to pop any hog-rings off the existing seat. I also pulled off the knee support. There are clips and shear pins holding them in.

Then you can reach under and stuff it with memory foam (like I did) or eggshell foam...

You may need a little or a lot- the memory foam crushes a lot, so I stuffed a lot in there, knowing it would compress. I later removed two layers though...

The seatback can be stuffed the same way- just separate the clip to get in there...

When you're done, it'll look like this underneath. I also used this as a chance to check and re-seal my airlines for the lumbar and thigh bolsters.

and reassemble- 1 hour max and it makes a huge difference for $10 in foam.

Hope it helps ya!

My ex-Ford mechanic neighbor told me that the actual padding is not available through the dealer anymore. He had a local upholstery guy redo some torn stitching, and redo the padding in his driver seat. I sat on it. It is like brand new.

Nice write-up BTW Joe Dirt.
