When I have a passenger riding with me the passenger seat "pops". When I accelerate it sounds as if somethings pops or breaks. Same thing when I stop. It's gotten worse lately and now my drivers side seat is doing it. I've had all the recalls done and all of the bolts seem to be tight under the seat and in the frame posts. The dealer has no clue. Can anybody here help???

Zen thats a common problem with the sportracs as well, not sure the sports are the same but if you look at the seat rails from the front bottom.
You can see the Alum rails have some sort of plastic insert, on the tracs they just plain wear out, allowing the seat to sort of wobble around.
Hope this is of some help

My Sport has the same problem, I never tried to fix it. It only make noises from the pass seat. It has an issue locking down and occasionally will slide forward on it's own. I fixed that by pushing down on the release bar to seat the latch.

Coincidentally my old neighbor's 01 Sport had the same issue with rattling seats as well. It seems we are cursed with this faulty design.

My '00 XLT did it for a long time. Now when someones in the pass. seat, it doesn't. I guess it wore itself out

My driver seat rocks backward about an inch when I accelerate. The passenger seat also squeaks, but does not move. I think for the driver's seat at least, it's in the hinges that move the seat. It has nothing to do with the seat bolts.

Thanks for the info. At least I know now that I'm not alone. Guess I'll try taking out the passenger seat and try to fix it this weekend. If I discover any thing of value, I'll be sure to let you all know. Thanks again for the info.
