This is where I am now. New moonroof track installed. But my old glass doesn't seem to be compatible. Nice. :thumbdwn: They used my VIN and model year for the part. So I don't know what happened.

Anyone know if I can sorta fold the headliner to get it out of the truck? How the fudge did they get it in? I've tried all kinds of angles and shiz.

I found a nice red '06 Lariat I may go look at.

headliner probably went in through the windshield.

Be warned of switching from a good thing. If that new 6.0 motor is working well then I would stick with this bad boy.

I feel a little better now, Danny. I got the moonroof working flawless. Problem is the track came... not in track from Ford. So I had to pull the glass off, get the pieces where they should be, then reinstall the glass. After that the window opened and closed perfectly. But it wouldn't vent! #$%^& Ends up that the motor is a 3-stage deal, so you have to match the motor with how the window is when you install it. So I closed the window, closed the motor using the switch. Then mounted the motor. All is well now. Just got interior back in and cleaned up.

So 1 problem down, three to go!

How do I seal it? My insurance company sent the glass guy out today to install the new one. I guess he took mine out, then realized that the one he brought to install is not the power slider unit. :thumbdwn: He said they have to order that one. 7-10 business days. :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:

So I'm supposed to just have no back window for the next couple weeks? I found someone parting out an '04 Lariat on craiglist. So if I could just pop their window out and pop it into mine, all would be good. Is it a professional type install, or could a hax0r like me do it?

Pulled the old bumper off. Found nothing unexpected behind it.

I was hoping the brackets would be usable... but they're bent a little more than I want to unbend. Of course Ford parts is closed today. :thumbdwn: But everything else swapped over. Hopefully they're an in-stock item and I can get this thing remounted tomorrow.

Ehhh.. they're a little roughed up. One would need a new bulb as the connector is destroyed. Plus, the mounts are blown off. But they're yours if you want them! :

So the window is finally going in tomorrow. Also, I decided to not replace the head unit for now. I'll just get the ca$h and hold on to it. The stocker 6-disc changer will go back in.
