Wow actually I just got done installing my 2 rockford 15s in a box that I made. How I secured it was placed the box were I wanted it and drilled a hole through the bottom of the box and through the floor of my X and used big bolts and lock thread. Its not going to be going any where for awhile!
If it does not need to removed all the time I will drill a couple of holethrough the box and the floor and bolt it down. I seal the holes and install the woofers. By doing it this way somebody can not just unbolt the box and take it. Becarfull when drilling so you do not hit anything under the truck, gas line, brake lines and such.
Actually, some of the people who post here don't have their trucks lifted so no off roadin. Me, for example, until I line appointments up to get everything done at once. But it's my only car so don't know when that will be.
If you don't want to drill through the bottom of your X then mount it to a huge board that fits the rear. Other people have drilled through the side panels if the box was flush enough, others built fake floors to house the amps which effectively keep the box snug.
This is what I've done to secure my box, since I need to be able to remove it once and a while. Sorry about the picture being so big.

I've recieved a lot of comments about this so here is my view:
I was getting a lot of comments about the locks and different ways people could still steal my box. My intent for making the locking mechanism was not to prevent the box from being stolen, but increase the time it took to steal. If a thief wants something bad enough nothing will prevent him from taking it, however the thief wants to get in and get out not spend twenty minuets trying to steal something
i secured mine by putting a bolt on either side raised about half of an inch, then i just "set" the whole box into the holders for that retractable vinal cover thing. my box is so wide that it sit there perfectly and i have room for my amp underneath the box in between the two fender wells
if you look where your jack handles are. (right behind your back seat, under the carpet) there are already holes there to stick a bolt thru. i removed the clips that held the handles in place so that i could mount them somewhere else. you might have to remove the big rubber cap on each side to get your fingers in there. but it was easy to do. and my box wont even move. and i made no holes in the x.
