Paragon was pretty cool this time!! Only Lizardtrac and I were there representing the Explorer contingency, but we had a blast. We hooked up with a couple of Nissans, an Isuzu, 2 Samurais several jeeps and a Bronco. There were a couple of trails with some "serious pucker factor" (I'm still pulling pieces of seat out of my a** from the creek crossing ) and a little carnage. Lizardtrac had a rear spring end up looking like an asterisk when the spring retainer got moved, but a bfh, a tow strap and a ball joint puller put it right with some baling wire. I ripped the right nerf bar off my X on a nice sized boulder. Lizardtrac has some good digital video/pix which should be up soon. The Bronco with us tried to reenact Jesus walking on water with predictable results. He ended up with a siezed motor and 2' of water in the truck.
At the end of the day, I had one of the guides come up to me and say "Well, I'll never look at Explorers the same way again!!" Nice compliment considering Lizardtrac and I got out of places that several other vehicles had to be towed out of
Sorry I missed you guys this time around..I've been taking an a$$ whoopin in the finances dept so I can't affoard any nasty breakage until I get some more parts off my backup Bronco II (hopefully this week).
That Bronco that took the big drink...was it a Bronco II?
Michigander- without using Mapquest or anything, I'd say you could expect aprox. a ten hour drive to Paragon from your location. In half that time, you could go to Wellsville, Ohio and have all hills, rocks, and mud you could ever dream of.
Oh, I guess it wasn't you then. Whose pix are those?? The big drink went to a full size Bronco. He got daring and went into one of the deep ponds in the bowl area. Never came out in one piece. He had water in at least 2 cylinders, and the motor wouldn't budge even with all the plugs out. Looks like the same thing ExplorerEB96 did the last time we went.
Well, at least they got pix of Chris and I mending our vehicles . I was trying to bungee cord the nerf bar back on the truck so it wouldn't drag, and Chris was trying to put his spring back together.
jeff,
did u guys go this past weekend? i was at the knotty pines diner off of route 93 last night with my parents and visiting my granparents in hazelton when 2 samarai's pulled up. they said they had just been to paragon for the day but i never asked if they were with some explorers. i just got my truck back up at school last night. if you were there would have been damn cool if we had hooked up about it earlier. oh well
