Recently, my ole man started my Explorer while I was still pumping gas. The Service Engine Soon light came on. However, I reset the light by disconnecting the battery. We've just taken it for a 2.5 hr drive & the light never came on. But we just got back in it & fired it up, & the light's back on again... Any thoughts???

The light will come on if the gas cap isn't on correctly or is damaged. I believe it's a closed system and any air escaping or being taken in causes the computer to read a problem with the fuel system. I suggest using an OBD II meter to check the code(s). Some auto parts stores (Autozone) will check it free of charge.

Thank ya. I believe I got 'er lined out🤞🏼!
