SF Bay area run..

Hey Jim -

I like it very much, it is very quiet. I don't even hear it at all or feel it unless I'm doing a U-turn or a sharp turn with the gas. You'll just have to learn to use momentum and speed in the turn instead of gunning it. There is no clunking noise as the hard locker or the first generation locker (LockRite?).

If price is an issue, definitely go with the No-Slip. I also looked at the Gearless Locker. It is almost exactly like the No-Slip except it has clutch plates so they could wear out in the long run.

Someone mentioned that they saw it advertised for around $280-$300. Do a search, it was posted about 3 weeks ago.

Sorry 'bout not replying sooner, I've not been getting the email notifications, AT&T screwing up my modem didn't help either.....

Count me in for Sat 2 Dec...

KVO,
Thanks for answering the questions, my tires are currently Futura Adventurer. I posted a thread about them a while ago: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=20416

I would prefer to leave the start time at 9am. I'm not sure how long it will take to get to Hollister from Pittsburg as I haven't been there before...

Rod,
I might be open for a trip 'up north', I'll have to check how far it is though...

Sorry guys, but it looks like I'm out of this one. The truck broke a u-joint, and it also appears to have destroyed the yoke also. So I'll be looking for the parts the next few days for that one..

Plus, my front diff is leaking, so back into the shop it goes. Grr.

dam, i,m out too.i sprained my back and it still isn,t good enough to get bounced around, plus compensation is not going as planned.so no money or good back,i hope i can make truckhaven.but i,ll see.goodluck tom

Oh well, I guess we'll postpone it for next year when everyone is healthy and the trucks all ready.

More Broken Parts

Sorry for not replying for so long. I kept following the thread, but not seeing that it had gone to two pages.

I am going to Cow Mtn with a couple friends with non Rangers or Explorers, on Saturday. That is, if I can get my new Warn hubs installed by then. I just blew an auto hub last weekend. I knew it was bound to happen, and it was just a matter of time.

As for a future trip, I will be moving to the Portland area in late December, so I wont be much help in planning a future North Bay trip.

FYI, I get to Cow Mtn by going to Ukia on the 101 and then taking a couple side streets into the hills toward the East. You can also get there from the East side of the mountains, but I have never come in that way.

Geez, I guess that I'm not the only one with problems.
I can't get my wheels aligned. My passenger side wheel is sitting in about 5 degrees and We can't adjust it out. It was alot worse until we put in the new camber bushings, but it is still out of alignment. Something is bent but we don't know what yet. I'm also waiting for that damn locker to come in so I can get the gears changed before going to Truckhaven.
