I've searched this site for hours and haven't been able to come up with a definite answer to this question. I know I'm going to get Warrior shackles, but what is the best was to raise the front end? I've got a 93, so theres no TT, I need to decide between spacers or new coils. Those of you that have done this, what do you recommend? What will I need to get it aligned afterwards? And where can you find just the coils for the front? Any info is appreciated! Thanks

i have new skyjacker coils. i would go with new coils. your front coils are probably sagging after this many years, and the new coils will give you more lift.

its the same amount of work either way, and aparently the new coils give you 2" where you just get 1" with the spacers.

i'll be going with coils. some of the vendors offer a coil set just for 4.0/extra cabs to handle the extra weight.

From what I understand I'll only get 1.5 inch from the shackles.... Will raising the front by 2 in leave the front end higher than the rear or will it balance out? Where did you guys get your coils? Did you have to buy anything to get it aligned after?

Well, actually i had add-a-leaf in the rear. Actually, I got the 1.5-2 inch skyjacker lift kit. All that is, is new front RED coils, with a add a leafs for each side in the back. Before the lift, I had a little sag but not much at all. After the lift, it was about even. But last weekend, i put on warrior shackles too, and it looks cool now, i love the look of it being higher in the back.

So Boats, would you recommed the small skyjacker lift w/ the shackles? I don't have the $$$ for a major lift right now, and I really don't want more than 2-3 inches. Just want to know if this is something you would do again, or do you think I should go a different route? Did you need new camber bushings? (or caster - I always get them confused...)

Yes, i would recommend it. And you could always stick a 2 inch body lift on, if this wasnt enough. i have 2 inch suspension, and 2 inch body, well pretty much 4 inch up front, 5.5 in the rear. for A LOT less than big kits.

i got it aligned after the lift, they had to put in new camber/caster i get them confused too. The alignment itself cost like $60.

Check out my post in the Before & After titled "I finally lifted it." The photo's are b&a's of my '92 lifted with the F-150 spacers and warrior's. It sits level and I was able to align it perfectly. The lift gained me 1.5". I went this route because of the price (less than $100) for the parts. Install was easy (took 2hrs. using air tools and the lift at work), but could be done in an afternoon using stands and hand tools.
