Hello.

I just replaced my front pass hub due to bearings being shot and all seemed find for a couple days then my wife told me the front end was shaking. Happened much worse at higher speeds but you can still feel it a bit at lower speeds. I still had the old hub so I put that back on to find the same problem. I can't see anything I missed. All went smooth. I torqued the axle nut to about 200fp.

Any ideas? I am in the process of putting the new hub back on.

Thanks.

Did you get air in your power steering system? If so, simply bleed it out by turning the wheel lock-to-lock a few times.

AFAIK the axle nut is not reusable...

I am not sure but how could I have I am wondering.

What I found today was when I got on the highway and accelerated it didn't really start to shake bad until I let off the gas and coast. Just really odd.

Thanks for the reply.

Air in system is just when you turn the wheels left to right by hand, like on a brake job when you reach in and swing the knuckle around for better access. Usually shakes whilst steering. Yours sounds different symptoms.

Symptoms as yours you can get that from sticking calipers.

He is not using the brakes when shaking. Is just lifting the foot from gas.
Because he talks about "hub" I assume is a 4x4.

Probably the axle nut got loose, because he reused the old nut... they are single-use.
And that will damage the bearings (new or old).
