Hey fellas,
I was changing out the front pads and rotors this afternoon on my 2000 Explorer XLT 4dr when one of the caliper guide pin bolts snapped off. Turns out the rear pin on the driver side was rusted and wouldn't budge.
No amount of PB Blaster/Propane Torch/Elbow Grease got the pin to even turn, so I'm going to get a new caliper bracket sometime this week.
It'll most likely have to be from the junkers, so my question is, what other Ford models share these particular brakes? Looking at the online inventory, there's only one 2000 in the yard and it's been there a few months, so it's probably picked clean. A few 98s though. Were there any major changes between those years?
Also, anything special I need to do with this calipers? I saved the rubber boots and they're in good shape, but I'm assuming I should just get new ones to be safe.
