hi yall. im thinking about shaving the emblems, handles, and rear wiper. i can do the body work, learning how to weld (haha), but as for all the inner workings, and poppers, what would yall recommend. i can do everything my self, and Blue is goin to get repainted anyway (hate isuzu so much) but just curious as to what brand of electronics to use. i want to be able to use a keyless entry, and the door pop open. plus, do i absolutly need to have weld in plates for the doors? i would need a remote with five buttons i suppose, for all doors, or is something else better. thanks in advance! im off to go set fire to an isuzu plant!

I did mine recently (not the door handles). What I shaved so far:

Ford logo emblem
Explorer XLT emblem
Hatch Key hole
Upper trim (holds 3rd brake light in place)
Lower trim (where rear wiper sits)

I am contemplating:

Antenna
Rear Wiper
Roof rack

One thing I don't like about this whole thing is the time my truck sits in primer until the whole thing I wanted done is done before I send to the paint shop. :(

Skilled welding would be the key.
Minimising heat as much as possible.
Metal distortion is your enimy
