Do these shift kits work on the 5R55e trans for the explorer.I hear when you do the valvebody they say to install one but some people say different.Any input on them would be helpful.I see shift technology has some never used that brand but used B&M alot for different uses

That's a very broad question, If you want to feel every up shift and down shift, yes they do that. Theory being the quicker the shift, means less slip, there for less wear. They might fix a flare but they won't fix a malfunctioning trans. They do what they say and nothing more. If you have an out of adjustment band or a leaking internal seal or a worn valve body, they won't fix these problems.
I installed one because I pull a heavy RV trailer, but I had to install a used trans because the original failed the used trans had no problems prior to installing the kit. I don't mind the increased shift feel but my wife doesn't like it.
That's my 2 cents worth

I know this explorer did alot f towing at one time just found out.I'll have the new valvebody thursday.I though of getting the kit but then the say to get the blow off valve also or just put it on like stock OEM

More than one manufacturer's parts could be used in the same valve body at the same time. For example, you could use Sonnax & Superior parts in an upgrade just as long as the parts don't overlap such as the boost valve, and other similar parts.

if i just put it back in like factory OEM do i still have to install the blow off valve

I do agree with BrooklynBay, especially the D rings as the reverse servo comes right out when you remove the old valve body, if you are uncomfortable working on the valve body then put it in the way it comes, the Sonnax Boost valve is easy to put in, but it does require removing the separate plate and you have to be careful not to turn the valve body over or some of the L keepers and check balls will fall out. You must have had a problem, which you didn't mention, or you would not be replacing the valve body.
The blow off valve is a safety valve, it just sits there and does nothing, it only opens if the pressure regulator fails, it prevents blowing things out from to high a pressure, there already is one in the valve body, ford updated it for more flow and located it in a better place. It does nothing for performance.

I installed the Superior kit (heavy duty) during my overhaul, and as stated above, the shifts are fairly firm. There is a good write-up on here, about the 5R55E valve body rebuild.

A guy at a trans shop told me the way it's acting up it's the selnoids in the valvebody so for 100.00 shiped with a 5 year warranty i got the whole set up i would of had to drop the old one to replace the selnoids so this one is done just switch the valvebodys

I would recommend getting the Sonnax boost valve with O rings along with an end plug kit with o rings. Transtec makes a D ring kit for the low/reverse servo.

Well just installed everything and man that bites sliping and catcing in drive low 1 seemed to come back but it's drive times it will catch but when you give it gas it don't go like normal. Then it slips out like it's in Neutral and will drift backwards if you on a slight upgrade low 2 is good reverse is good.I guess it is time to get a trans.I'm all out of ideas

Did you use a 1/4 inch pound torque wrench on the valve body bolts and in the proper sequence? Is the fluid level correct?

yes i did fluid level is good any ideas like clutches or band adjustment maybe sensors all i know there is no codes unless it is haunted.I thought maybe the sensor on top of the rear diff or the oss sensor.I been doing some searching i seen a few rebuilt trans on ebay guy out in AZ santrans is shops name for 629.00 what do you guys think i guess checking him out before buying.I thought it wasn't to bad due to the fact there a few yards around here that have some with 78,000 miles on them but price is anywhere from 500.00 to 750.00
