Shift Kits

You can have it on all the time. The only thing that happens is the resistor module will build up heat. I put some old 486 heatsinks with heatsink gunk on mine and hung it so it has airflow around it. I've heard of them being mounted with flammable materials and causing fires. If you just ziptie it up and let air flow around it you'll be fine.

Just want to make sure everything is ok with the shift plus? When i have it on you can realy hear and feel the trans thudding into gears when city driving and when i floor it, when it hits second i can hear a sharp squeel noise and the revs drop or do something funny for a split second but only when flooring it and it goes into second does it do this???

Anyone?????????

Anyone??????

I just got home from work and im tired but im gonna try to type. Your are suppost to feel the trans shift, or thud as you call it. Thats what the kit is for. You say when you shift you hear a sharp squeel. I dont know what you meen or what that might be. Has it gotten worse?

It hasn't gotten worse but when i first installed the shift kit it didn't make any noise but now it only makes a sharp squeel when i floor it and it switches into second sounds similar to a slipping fan belt.

mine dosnt make that noise. Does it still do it when you turn the kit off? Im just asking questions that may help somebody else answer.

No when it's off it's back to normal no noise and you cant even tell if it's shifting it's that smooth.
