Do you have the manual or the auto?

Yeah, I have the owners manual, also the transmission manual and maintenance manual. shockingly the tranny manual says I will have to look in a Special Issue of the technical service Bulletin for the actual shift points. I just don't believe it can be this hard to find. I've been looking for days. with no luck.

I think he meant manual as in stick,
or automatic tranny.

Guess it would help to read fully. True wannabe!
A4LD automatic would be the key here!

I will bump this for you, I would like to know also. Some more info might help though. What is your truck doing wrong?

Funny thing, not much is wrong. I just installed a remanufactured tranny and put an adjustable vacuum modulator on it b/c I'm at 8,000 feet. the thing that is bugging me is that it shifts very quickly, sometimes it will go from 1st to 2nd at 10mph and almost always reaches overdrive by 40 mph.

If you are easy on the gas that sounds about right. That is why most of us here drive our first gen's around in D and then put it in OD when we are on the freeway.
