I have been having Shifting issues with my 1995 Explorer AWD XLT

Vehicle starts fine, and there is no issues there.

Problem lies in that there is hesitation going into all gears, and I infrequently have use of the OD gear...

When Putting the vehicle into drive there is a hesitation of ~5-6 seconds then goes in.. Wont up shift gears until i release the Gas.. and i haven't been able to use OD gear in a very long time. Makes highway driving (which is my predominant use of the truck), difficult.

I had Heard that this is most likely the result of failed valve body gaskets. So one day in September of 2014, I pulled it down.. Changed all of the gaskets.. Valve body gaskets, servo gaskets, pan gasket, pan filter, and new pan (other was cracked). Put in brand new fluid.

There was no difference.. Still hesitated, no Overdrive, still getting the overdrive off light on the dash. I was hoping it was not the Transmission Because it was Recently rebuilt (cost a small fortune).

However i had it mentioned by someone i know not to be Brilliant with ford products, that they had a similar issue in a vehicle they owned and it turned out to be a Torque Converter... Is the guy blowing smoke.. or is there truth to his words???

Any Help Appreciated.. hoping to have it working before summer

Thanks!

Still looking for some assistance out there on this matter. Im starting to wonder if its the shift solenoids failing. Resulting in a loss off Overdrive gear, and hesitation into all gears..

Has anyone had this issue and fixed it before??
