Year, Model & Trim Level
2002 Ford Explorer
Hello everyone,

Very disappointed with my car. Since the beginning of the year I had to repair leaking seals, windows regulators, wheel bearings. It's like my car drains all my money.

I have a Ford Explorer 2002 Limited Edition V8. It has about 150K miles. I have rebuilt the transmission or more specifically got some 555 timer fix in 2009.

Aside from the constant door ajar, airbag and abs light constantly on, I can't move my car!

I drove my car earlier this afternoon for about 20 mins. I parked it and went to the park. came back 4 hours later put it in reverse and It moved two feet and then it didn't move again.

I'm able to shift it into every gear but it doesn't move at all. The RPM needle move but the speedometer needle does not. I had to put it in neutral and a couple friends helped me move it back into the parking space.

I saw online that there is a button under the steering wheel that I could press. I will try that in the morning to see if it helps since its dark outside now. This model it is hard to check the transmission fluid because there is no dipstick at the top. I also plan to slowly add some trans fluid to see if that fix it in the morning as well.

I'm just disappointed because I don't have the money to get it fix if its a transmission issue. If anyone else had these same symptoms please let me know what it may be and what the solution was.

Thanks for reading.
