My 91 explorer coil spring housing has rusted through, went
To dealer and was told there non orderable, obsolete! They could only get one for quad shocks.question is will that fit a single shock? Bronco graveyard only has ranger, bronco units, anybody know if they will fit,or should I search a yunk yard.thanks

Update...the single shock tower is availible through fordparts.net,ordered it and had it in 2 days,so dont believe what the part people tell you!It took me about a day to replace, getting the steel rivits out took the most time,as i drilled them out. There are 6,and two are on the bottom and very hard to get a tool at them, had to angle drill!I heated up the bottom coil spring nut with a mapp torch, and that came right off with a breaker bar.I had to replace the shock,as the top bolt broke right off,the bottom stud was fine.I replaced the radius arm bushings as well on this side, did the other last week.I used a oem spring compresser from autozone to compress spring, made things a lot easier.I know people say you do not need a compressor, but i used it anyway.Complete brake line replacement next! I did the rears last month, very easy, now i need to do the main front to rear.Should be fun!

Glad to hear you are back on the road. I would also suggest a junkyard. There are lots of explorers around usually.
