hahaha this is not rocket science. You never learn if you dont tackle projects beyond you. My first clutch took me and a friend more then 3 days to complete. A year later I could do the full job myself in about 6 hours with hand tools.
I had no idea what I was getting into years ago when I decided to put a 4.0L into my daily driver based on a magazine article I saw......now look at me.

Yebbut, I can't afford to be without my Ex for more than a day. A 3 day project would kill me.

I'm content to be chicken. Not gonna happen any time soon. I know me too well. ;)

I understand down time, there have been many one day projects that had me borrowing a car for a couple days after the weekend.

there is ALWAYS something that comes up, no matter how simple the project seems.

I put in my Autovation pedals real fast last night. Of course, this is the second time I've done it. First time it took me a few hours. I'm not going to tell you about some of the stupid things I did that time.

I found myself wondering what I'd done wrong because it happened so quick last night. You should see how quickly I can get a Volant intake in and out of my Ex now. First time was a huge exercise in futility. It's a bit of a tight fit and for the mechanically uninclined like me, I was at it for way too long when I first got the kit. No amount of peer pressure will get me to tackle a TMH project on my own. :D

I was so proud the first time I installed my Warrior shackles. All by myself. *sniff

Celley you are on the right track :) I just yanked a 4.0L drivetrain out of a 95 Explorer in about 6 hours total, by myself. Of course I have pulled 4.0L's about 12 times now....Just start collecting tools and doing everything yourself, never be afraid to tackle a project and you will be a pro in no time. Just have a backup plan to get to work on mon morning just in case :) My backup plan is currently getting a new front end :) hahaha
