Shocking discovery

I have a problem, I'm going through shocks, I just put a new set of Rancho RS 5000 on the front and their toast. I did a little investigation and found my stock ride height puts the shock at an extended lenght of just over 18 inches. the problem is all the shocks I've looked at seem to have manufacture specs with puts the max extended lenght at 18.25 inches...... see my problem I'm surprised that know one else has run into this, I've read pages of threads and every one says use Rancho, use Edelbrock, use Procomp and on and on and on, but know one says which part number????? the stock ones just won't last! I can't pull in my drive way without fully extending the travel on the shocks...
Any help would be appreciated. please include part numbers if avail. :exp:

...when you go to order your next ones, ask them for 1" over...

I have Rancho RS5227's, they are a bit longer than stock and will work with a bit of modification.

Rancho RS5227:

Stretched Length: 28.875"
Compress Length: 17.375"
Stroke: 11.5"

Stock shock specs:

Extended length:25.250"
Compressed Length:15.000"
Travel Length:10.250"
