I called Skyjacker on the collapsed and extended lengths for a 6" lift on a 1st gen explorer and they gave me the measurements of

Front Ext. 22 3/4" Coll. 13 1/2"
Rear Ext. 29 3/4" Coll. 17 1/4"

Then I went on ebay and went to superlifts scratch and dent stuff and bought (2) 85280 - ext. 22.9" coll. - 13.9" and (2) 85151 ext. 30.07" coll 17.70 shocks.

Hope this helps... :)

oops....the rear may depend on where you mount them.

Mine fit like this.

Blueox, that is what I have been looking for :D I may give Bilstein a call back with thsoe numbers and see if the part #s he gave me change any. But at least now I have the numbers.

Oh and nissanboy, I took 1/4 of your advice and ended up riding around Tellico with only 3 shocks :D

at www.performancecenter.com u can choose the shocks u need. and it says the size of lift u have to have for the shocks.

On my explorer I am running
Rancho RS99261 shocks front
Rancho RS99254 shocks rear

As far as shopping by length for a 6" lift
compressed extended
front ~12 1/4 Min. 19 1/4 +
rear ~17 Min. 29 +
These numbers are fairly close, yours could be a little diffrent depending on how you have your suspension set up.
