Shocks

Does anyone have any recommendations for shocks? I am thinking of buying some Rancho RS5000's. I do mostly road driving, but I do like to get on the trails whenever I can. So, I am looking for a good all around shock that won't break the bank. What do you guys have?

I run RS5000's on my 91. I do mostly street driving, but hit the trails every now and again. I had a pretty rough ride when I but my lift and 32's on, but when I installed the 5000's man does it feel better! Easy to install too.

I was just looking at the Eliminator shock on 4wheelparts.com. Has the same stuff as the Ranchos for less. Is a shock a shock or does the brand name really make a difference? I am guessing that I could buy generic premium shocks and they would do the same thing. I am I right or wrong?
