On friday night I was driving, and I started having problems with the clutch in my hyundai excel. It started getting really hard to put it into gear, and after a while it was nearly impossible, and the clutch wasnt disengauging at all. I would put the clutch down, but when I would hit the gas pedal, the damn car would still move as if the clutch was not down. I'v been told by some people that I just need to replace the clutch, and I'v also been told that I just need to replace the flexplate. I'v never worked on a clutch before so I dont have a clue whats going on. I am going to replace the tranny when I get around to putting a new clutch in it, because the synchros were shot in my tranny as it was. My tranny is a 4 speed, and I found another 4 speed, but Im going to keep looking untill I find a 5 speed because the 4 speed gets really bad highway mileage and Iv been doing alot of highway driving lately; and because I am totally sure that they made some excels with 5 speed trannies. If anyone knows whats wrong with my clutch, please help me out and let me know whats going on.
Thanks,
Andy
