My water pump went out on my explorer and I removed it. My issue is now I cannot get the fan, fan clutch and pulley off. Unfortunately I asked someone for advice and they said it was right hand threaded. So while trying to remove fan by turning it to the left I ended up with the water pump housing coming completely off with only the shaft remaining and still attached to fan, clutch and pulley. I am assuming that it is probably left hand threaded but unsure of how best to try to get it off now. I have used a variety of tools to try and hold the shaft while turning nut to the right but have been unsuccessful at this. Any ideas on how to best attack this issue ? At my wits end now.
Thanks,
Larry
