I've got the opportunity to buy a 97 X (OHV/Auto/XLT) with 139K miles that has blue smoke for 2500$. Think it would be a worthwile truck to buy and drop a new motor and tranny in?
The motor runs fine but has nasty blue smoke. So its gonna need valve seals or rings......but I'd rather just throw a newer engine in given the miles.
Sound like a good deal, or should I pass and get something else?
With the high mileage, what else am I looking at replacing? Shafts, joints?
